Board of Trustees

Kids Operating Room is a charity registered in Scotland. It is run by the Board of Trustees who take advice from a global network of advisors. The Board devolve day-to-day responsibility for running the charity to the Chief Executive.

The Board make decisions on where the charity will invest and ensure that the program of delivery is sustained with those projects offering the greatest impact prioritised for investment.

Global Advisors

The global advisory structure developed to form the charity included the creation of an International Advisory Board, whose membership included many of the world’s leading paediatric surgeons.

Making decisions on how and where to invest.

As the charity evolved, this structure developed to ensure expertise from every nation is accessed to reduce risk and maximise impact. The Global Ambassador program was launched in summer 2020 to achieve this objective and the group, who meet virtually as well as contributing individually with advice on their own nation, is chaired by a Trustee.

With many of the International Advisory Board members continuing as National Ambassadors, and now with National Champions from across every low and middle-income country too, the Board have access to a global intelligence network allowing them to make the best decisions on how and where to invest.
