Dr. Mark Newton

Biography

Dr Newton has been living and working in East Africa with his wife, Sue, and five children since 1997 – primarily at Kijabe Hospital in Kenya – focusing on providing safe anaesthesia capacity building through education for non-physicians and medical doctors in Kenya, South Sudan, Somalia, and Ethiopia in partnership with Ministries of Health and non-government education institutions where anaesthesia capacity is low.

Dr Newton is an international leader in global anaesthesia, active member in multiple international anaesthesia organisations, while managing global anaesthesia research projects across many African countries.
