Antelope – “The antelope, as antelopes are fleet of foot and trust their instincts. In working in fundraising and communications I often have to adapt to changing situations and trust my instincts when making decisions. They also run very fast, which is something I aspire to do!”

Biography

As Head of Fundraising and Communications, Kate is responsible for increasing awareness of KidsOR’s work around the world and raising funds to ensure we can help more children access the surgery they need.

“I’m excited to be part of an organisation that is leading the way giving children the opportunity to receive lifesaving surgery. Our ambitious plans to expand our work will have a huge impact on children around the world.”

Kate is based in Edinburgh and has worked in fundraising and communications for over 15 years. Prior to joining KidsOR Kate led a multi-million-pound capital fundraising campaign for the King’s Theatre in Edinburgh.

Kate’s career has largely been within children’s charities as she’s passionate about giving children the best possible start in life. She has led fundraising and communications teams at Children 1st, the Prince’s Trust in Scotland, and worked with UNICEF UK. Kate is a trustee of Age Scotland.

When she is not raising much needed funds for children's surgeries, Kate loves getting outdoors as much as she can. She is a keen runner and enjoys cycling and skiing with her family and friends.
