Monkey - “I chose the monkey as my animal as this was the first artwork I put on the wall of an Operating Room during a recent installation in Lima, Peru. Monkeys are fast learners who can adapt quickly, skills that ensure they succeed even in challenging environments.”
Biography
David is passionate about achieving Universal Health Coverage. This includes ensuring every child has access to high-quality healthcare when they need it – no matter where they were born.
A strong advocate of the Sustainable Development Goals, David is a global leader in developing charitable programs for children’s health. He has provided leadership to healthcare projects in the UK and across the world, impacting the lives of millions of children.
David is a highly regarded charity regulation expert. He is a Board member of the UK Fundraising Regulator and a member of the regulator’s Standards Committee, setting the rules for all fundraising in the UK.
A Psychology graduate with a keen interest in early-years development, David has championed the importance of creating high-quality, age-appropriate environments for children’s healthcare in low-resource settings.
David has lectured on a range of topics often focused around delivering projects in low- and middle-income countries. He is a regular speaker at global health events and on global health courses.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and was recently awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Dundee for his work to improve children's healthcare services.
