A Remarkable Evening at the Scottish Parliament!
Last week Kids Operating Room had the honour of hosting a reception event at the Scottish Parliament in Holyrood!
The event, which was kindly sponsored by MSP & party leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats, Alex Cole-Hamilton, was dedicated to shedding light on our mission; addressing the critical gap of global surgical capacity.
The need for increased capacity for children’s surgery across the world is staggering. There are 1.75 billion children alive today who live without access to safe, timely surgery should they need it. We’re delighted that our work has provided capacity for 100,000 life-changing operations for children, but the need for our work remains enormous.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Members of the Scottish Parliament who attended and added their support to our cause.
As well as speeches from co-founder Garreth Wood, and Alex Cole-Hamilton, the evening also featured a peek into the future of surgical innovation through our virtual reality experience. It allowed attendees to step into an Operating Room and witness, first hand, the true impact of our work.
We are delighted to have had this opportunity to share our dedication to transforming global paediatric surgical care. We're grateful for the chance to share our journey and to emphasize the significance of our work far and wide.
