New Operating Room in Meru, Kenya
We're celebrating the official opening of a new paediatric Operating Room at Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kenya!
The new theatre, our latest project with partners Smile Train, an American cleft-focussed organisation, is now officially open and serving the community of Meru County.
This is the first paediatric facility of its kind in the area, meaning safer access to surgery for the children of Meru County.
We're grateful to our Director for Africa Rosemary, who cut the ribbon and spoke at this joyful event. She was joined by Senior Vice President of Global Medical Programs at Smile Train Dr. Esther Njoroge-Muriithi, the Hospital Director, Dr Gacheri P. Kathiri, and Kawira Mwangaza, County Governor of Meru County, as well as some members of the KidsOR team!
We're also grateful to our installation team, pictured below, who's hard work resulted in this brand new theatre.
We can't wait to see how this theatre changes lives of children, families and the surgical team in Meru!
