KidsOR Wins Prestigious Impact Award
Kids Operating Room win big at prestigious awards night in Washington D.C.
We are so proud to announce our momentous win at last night's 2024 .ORG Impact Awards, hosted by the Public Interest Registry, in Washington, D.C.
In a gathering of hundreds of inspiring non-profits, Kids Operating Room emerged from a pool of around 1,800 applicants to take home the Health and Healing award, recognising our transformative work in providing access to safe and timely surgery for children in low-resource settings around the globe.
The Health and Healing category celebrates organisations dedicated to improving health and wellness by providing essential resources such as medical supplies, education, and sustainable healthcare solutions. We were thrilled to see our innovative and tireless efforts recognised at such a prestigious event and with such a momentous award.
This recognition not only honours our impact but also reinforces the critical role of sustainable healthcare infrastructure in saving lives and transforming futures. By equipping operating rooms with the necessary tools and empowering local medical teams, we are helping to create a world where children can access the safe surgery they deserve, no matter where they live.
Accepting the award, our Chief Medical Officer, Dr Maija Cheung, said:
"Our work would not at all be impactful without the incredible local collaborators we have with us around the world. Their tireless work every day means they are dedicated to taking care of the children in the communities that they serve. All we do is help augment their own skills, and we are so pleased to share this award with you, and all of our collaborators across the world."
Winning this award marks a significant milestone for us and underscores our commitment to improving paediatric healthcare worldwide and will continue to push us to expand our work and delivering even greater impact in the years to come.
