Volunteer with Us
Your hands can be life-changing hands too.
Our volunteers are vital to the life-changing work we do for children who desperately need our help. Volunteering is also a fantastic way to meet new people in a fun environment and build new skills. Every role can be tailored to suit you.

Community Engagement Champion
We need enthusiastic volunteers to spread the word about Kids Operating Room in the community. Our Champions encourage people to contribute and support our work however they can. You will be fully supported by Kids Operating Room so that you are full of confidence when telling our story to your community. This might include speaking to community groups, schools and local businesses. You might also want to coordinate the placing and replacing of our collection cans with local businesses and shops, or assist with fundraising events.
Our work takes us all around the world, and we never want to find ourselves tongue tied. We are always looking for people who can translate (especially in French and Spanish) and assist our communication with projects across the globe. We have fantastic working relationships with each of these hospitals, and our translators find themselves at the heart of the Kids Operating Room story.
It all begins in our Centre for Global Operations/ Dundee Warehouse, where our busy team packs up life-saving equipment ready to ship out to our partner hospitals. We are looking for volunteers to help with a range of duties, including packing, sorting and labelling essential medical equipment so we can ship it out to wherever it is needed most.
We need an army of healthcare staff, fundraisers and volunteers to bring safe surgery to every child, and we need to make sure that they look the part. This volunteering role will let you turn your talents to whatever suits you best: you might want to stitch together Kids Operating Room branded surgical caps, or you might make customised t-shirts for fundraisers participating in events across the country.

See what Karen had to say about volunteering with Kids Operating Room.
“I translate documents for Kids Operating Room because I can use my skills to help children across the world from my flat in Glasgow. As the world gets smaller, there are more opportunities to help people that need it most exist: I truly believe that we should act on our impulse to help others wherever we can.”
