Biography

I am a medical doctor and global health policy professional. I have seven years of clinical experience, practising paediatrics in Uganda. I love children. I am also a social medicine educator and enthusiast, and usually engage medical students and willing listeners on the social determinants of health.

I am elated to be working and growing my career at KidsOR as a policy officer. My job, at the nexus between policy research and policy engagement, is to enable translation and realisation of KidsOR vision, strategy for, and impact on equitable and global paediatric surgery into broader global and national health policy for both surgical systems strengthening and broader health systems strengthening. I am honoured to be working with a socially responsible organisation and a diverse staff to provide paediatric surgical care, advocate for stronger, equitable, and responsive health systems, and also contribute to broader realisation of child health. Our work is critical to realising the demographic dividend posited to occur from sustained investments in health across the life course.
